Which bicycle trailer suits me?

Choosing a good bicycle trailer comes down to three things: what you carry, how often you ride and which bike you have. This guide gets you to the right model from our range in five minutes — and tells you when a custom build is the smarter choice.

1. What are you going to carry?

Shopping, luggage, toolsChoose a luggage or cargo trailer. Open and flexible, with a load capacity of 50–100 kg.
Things that must stay dry and secureChoose an aluminium box trailer (115–500 litres). Lockable and waterproof — ideal for delivery work.
SUP, canoe or kayakChoose the SUP/canoe trailer: long, light and stable, with supports in the right places.
Windsurf or wingfoil kitChoose the water sports trailer — board, sails and mast to the water in one go.
A second bikeChoose the bike transporter — handy for repairs or a family ride out.
ChildrenTake a look at the child trailer with suspension, pushchair and jogger kits.
Something out of the ordinaryMarket stall, measuring equipment, a sound system? Custom builds are our speciality.

2. How often will you use it?

Daily or commercial use (deliveries, landscaping, market trading): always choose an aluminium frame with solid wheels — cheap steel carts rust and go out of true. Our trailers are built for this, and plenty of them are out on the road every day, from delivery couriers to landscapers.

Now and then (holidays, odd jobs, hobbies): a lighter model such as the Vlieland trailer or the Heavy Duty Flatbed is a perfectly good choice.

3. Which bike do you have?

Our trailers connect via a coupling on the rear axle, which means they fit almost any bike — city bike, e-bike or cargo bike. The low coupling point keeps your bike stable, even with a heavy load. Riding an e-bike? No problem: pull 75 kg and more without really noticing it.

Common mistakes when buying

  • Buying too small: measure your largest load before you choose. Torn between two sizes? Take the larger one.
  • Comparing on price alone: a budget steel cart will have rusted through after two winters outdoors. Aluminium lasts for decades.
  • Forgetting the coupling: always check that the coupling system fits your axle. Message us if you are unsure: WhatsApp.
